Woolshed Falls and Mount Pilot, Victoria

For these two mini adventures we had to do them solo as Benny wasn’t permitted, particularly within the Mount Pilot National Park near Chiltern. ​

Woolshed Falls near Beechworth

​We may not have been able to see a waterfall along our Rawes Track walk, but we did have the opportunity to drive up to Woolshed Falls lookout. We tag-teamed in and out of the car as we ran across the carpark in slight drizzly rain to see this natural beauty.

Mount Pilot Lookout near Chiltern

​A visit to the Mount Pilot Lookout was recommended to us by the groovy dude at the groovy café, The Guard in Yackandandah, however it’s located in a National Park, a Benny no go zone, so one of us had to stay in the car with Benny in the carpark as the other went for a look. To reach the lookout required a walk with an incline for about 300m, which didn’t initially seem strenuous, but after indulging in a beer at the Bridge Road Brewery in Beechworth, we laughed at how both of us felt completely puffed out upon reaching the top, hearts beating out of chests. The scenery was lovely, but I really shouldn’t have attempted the walk after a beer. Lesson learnt. I’m happy to say neither of us drink alcohol very much these days but we do enjoy the odd craft beer and the Robust Porter is one of our faves. No regrets!
